What is Keg Tapped?

Keg Tapped is a social platform for beer enthusiasts. Rate beers, discover new favorites, connect with fellow beer lovers, and share your tasting experiences.

Creating an Account

1. Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner
2. Enter your email address and choose a password
3. Verify your email address
4. Complete your profile with a username and bio
5. Start rating beers!

Navigating the Platform

• Feed: See posts and reviews from people you follow
• Beers: Browse and search our beer database
• Breweries: Explore breweries and their offerings
• Recommendations: Get personalized beer suggestions
• Profile: View your ratings, followers, and activity

How to Rate a Beer

1. Search for the beer you want to rate
2. Click on the beer to view its details
3. Click "Rate This Beer"
4. Give it a score from 1-5 stars
5. Add a written review (optional but recommended)
6. Share your rating with the community

Rating Guidelines

• Be honest and constructive in your reviews
• Focus on taste, aroma, appearance, and mouthfeel
• Avoid offensive language or personal attacks
• Rate based on the style (don't compare an IPA to a Stout)
• Update your rating if your opinion changes

Recommendations Algorithm

After rating 5+ beers, you'll receive personalized recommendations based on your taste profile and preferences. The more you rate, the better your recommendations become!

Profile Settings

Access your profile settings by clicking your avatar and selecting "Settings".

• Account: Change email, password, and username
• Profile: Update bio, avatar, and display name
• Notifications: Control email and push notifications
• Privacy: Manage who can see your ratings and activity

Following & Followers

Follow other beer enthusiasts to see their ratings and reviews in your feed. Build your community by connecting with people who share your taste in beer.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Data Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Your data is encrypted, secure, and never sold to third parties.

Age Verification

Keg Tapped is for users 21+ (or legal drinking age in your country). We comply with all age verification regulations and COPPA requirements.

Reporting & Moderation

If you see inappropriate content or behavior:

• Use the "Report" button on any post or review
• Our moderation team reviews reports within 24 hours
• Violators may have content removed or accounts suspended
• For urgent safety concerns, email support@kegtapped.com

Claim Your Brewery

Brewery owners can claim their profile to:

• Verify your brewery with a blue checkmark
• Add official photos and descriptions
• Respond to reviews and engage with customers
• Update your beer list and tap listings
• Access analytics on your ratings and reviews

Report Fraudulent Breweries

If you discover a fake or fraudulent brewery listing, please email brew-dispute@kegtapped.com with evidence. We take brewery authenticity seriously.

Is Keg Tapped free to use?

Yes! Keg Tapped is free for all users. We offer premium features for power users, but the core rating and discovery features are always free.

How do I add a new beer?

Search for the beer first to make sure it doesn't exist. If you can't find it, click "Add Beer" from the Beers page and fill out the required information.

Can I edit my ratings?

Yes, you can edit or delete your ratings at any time from your profile or the beer's detail page.

Why do I need to rate 5 beers for recommendations?

Our recommendation algorithm needs a baseline of your preferences to make accurate suggestions. After 5 ratings, we can understand your taste profile.

Is my data safe?

Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption, never sell your data, and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.
